Big Change on the Way?

April 18th, 2013

In the wake of this latest tragedy, I cant help but to sense that ‘big change’ again is on the way for the nation, maybe.  Let’s hope the powers-that-be remember to include the economic well-being of the populace when they implement the big changes to come – as it seems they failed to remember to do with the big changes implemented of a decade or so ago.

The Second Boston Massacre: Patriot’s Day Marathon, 2013.

April 17th, 2013

As has been suggested, upon the guilty creep(s) who brought the nation this latest tragedy at the Boston Marathon, let’s hope that the full weight of justice falls heavy, hard, quickly, and soon.

With condolences to all the victims,

All eyes of the Nation were on Watertown. No doubt. So many of these creeps go down the same way. Hiding like rats. creep dude should have spared us all and went down with his brother.  I trust it's the correct creeps. Good job to the law enforcement folks to catch these creeps so fast. (creep ran over his own brother to get away?)  Let us know if they had any buddies helping them, will ya? Thanks.

Pruning the Death Off the Trees.

April 10th, 2013

The tree worker guys were pruning/trimming the dead portions at the end of the branches on the tree outside one of the gates to the complex today.  I have been watching the deadness of that tree slowly spreading from the end of the branches inward towards the trunk of the tree for a couple of few years now.  After trimming the deadness off the tree, which I believe is a Australian willow tree, there is not much left of it.

I’m concerned that the tree may never grow back and the death is merely spreading inward.  Because there are remaining branches that were not pruned with leaves that look to be dying as did the other branches before they went bare.  I’m more concerned that I see the same death pattern on many types of trees throughout the nation.  And I’m even more concerned that so few seem to be noticing the dying trees and the governments and the media sources have said nothing about the matter either.  Ultimately disconcerting as well is that when the death pattern spreading throughout the trees becomes more noticeable, the local governments apparently pay someone to come and trim the tree back and the death apparently spreading through the tree is removed as it to keep it from our view. And  what kind of sends me over the  top is that I fear that my previously blogged hypothesis could actually becoming to fruition (see the link below about the burning of ethanol fuels and trees).

But, maybe I don’t give the local governments enough credit though and they are merely expending the capital to prune the trees to make the sidewalk safer – in spite of the current trends of cities to be short on revenues, or so we are told.  And, maybe it was merely a parasite attacking the tree or something, as the maples on either side of this tree appear healthy and fine - but I have never seen any signs of any parasites on this tree before.

But again, given my previously stated hypothesis in the matter (see link below), the continuation of dying trees with such a similar pattern of distress displayed in the trees beforehand and with no word from any official sources on the issue have again fueled my grave concerns regarding the trees and the possible influence of the burning of ethanol/alcohol based fuels.

I would take another photo of the likely dying tree for the sake of argument and posterity, as I have many a photo of trees dying in apparently the same fashion from around the nation.  However, I find the whole matter to be overly depressing and even sickening, especially if my hypothesis and fears were even slightly on target in the matter.  And I dont want to see another photo of it all.

Reigning in Banks and Crazed Gun-Men, “This Week with George Stephanopoulos.”

April 7th, 2013

Today on “This Week w/George S.” a member of his gang could be heard to ask “…why the Democrats have done nothing to reign in the banks and Wall Street excesses?”  None had an answer and all of them seemed flabbergasted with the reality of it all.

If I may, I would put forth that some combination of two most likely answers might reflect the reality of it all.  First, the Democrat party leaders seem to be on the same side as the banks and Wall Street, just as most of the mainstream seems to attribute only to the Republican leadership.  And, secondly, the modern Democratic leaders seem to prefer to blame everything on the Bush Administration even though such [likely failed] non-policies of the prior administration might be as much as a decade old – blame and excuses which then appear acceptable to their constituents because many of the constituents seem content to allow the Democrats to offer nothing but excuses, apparently.

The prior matter was all that I originally wanted to address with this blog, but interestingly enough, I believe it was George S. himself at the very end of the show that spoke of a study out this week which suggested the best conduct for anyone who is part of a crowd when confronted with a crazed homicidal gun-man.  George said that the study suggested that the folks in a crowd would be best to run-away from any crazed homicidal gun-man.  Well…, duh!   And the study also may have suggested that folks in the crowd attempt to show resistance or fight back.

Of course this begs the question, what do you do when you can’t merely run-away from a gun-man?  Obviously, from what was said on the show today, even this study seemed to suggest that an individual try to defend themselves somehow.  One can only wonder how one might adequately accomplish such a defense or what would one use to defend themselves against a homicidal maniac shooting at everyone – if the current administration and Mayor Bloomberg have their way.  Might the researchers suggest that folks throw buttered popcorn at the homicidal creep/gun-man?  And if the trend continues which has been promoted by folks like the current presidential administration and Mayor Bloomberg, that’s likely all a law-abiding citizen will ever have to defend themselves with as well.  Because it seems the currently promoted trend is to make it illegal for law-abiding Americans to even own any guns – regardless of the reasons for owning the gun.  What's more ironic, is that these same politicians and individuals who seek to curtail or eliminate private gun ownership most likely never go anywhere without an armed guard - or dozens of them.

I suppose maybe I’ll have to try to review the show in its entirety and to find and read the study to see what is actually in it, no doubt.

Taxes Kill Jobs! 10.4 % Unemployment in L.A. County. Send Short-Sighted Politicians Somewhere Else!

March 24th, 2013

Southern California regions see job losses, uptick in unemployment
http://www.presstelegram.com/breakingnews/ci_22853913/southern-california-regions-see-job-losses-uptick-unemployment

The headline on yesterday’s Long Beach Telegram shouted out “unemployment in Los Angeles county rises to 10.4%” – or something to that extent.   No doubt such ‘pleasant’ unemployment numbers were helped along by the new recent taxes which were to be imposed on the state’s ‘rich’ citizens.  Of course, we are all aware now that the tax-happy politicians consider the ‘rich’ to be anyone that makes more than $20 per hour.

But the issue I wanted to highlight with this blog entry is the correlation of higher taxes and the byproduct of less jobs as a result of the higher taxes – for anyone that doesn’t see such a correlation, such as most of the nation’s ‘liberal’ politicians, apparently.  ‘Liberal’ politicians for some reason seem too short-sighted to understand such a simplistic correlation.  'Liberal' politicians – when not acting to take away rights from the citizenry, such as the freedom to smoke cigarettes or own firearms – seem to know to do nothing but to endeavor to forever raise taxes.

As an example of such economic and political visionary problems, L.A. Mayor Villaraigosa was on the Sunday news talk shows this morning (ABC Ch. 7’s Eyewitness Newsmakers) stating that L.A.’s sales taxes need to be raised to 10% - as such a referendum has just been voted down by residents in the City’s most recent election a few weeks ago.  As another example, President Obama told us how the ‘rich’ needed to start paying more taxes.  In response, I would ask of those who still might have a job during this Great Depression of the New Millennium, did your taxes also increase?  Are you then rich, because your taxes also went up as the Obama (and Gov. Brown) administration(s) claimed to only seek to increase taxes on the ‘rich’?

Sometimes I think it’s almost as if the taxes should be further increased just to show these politicians – who appear challenged by common sense if not also challenged in the basic laws of economics – the obvious correlation of how increasing taxes increases unemployment.  I would suggest one look to see where taxes have been raised recently to see if jobs were subsequently created as a result of the tax increases – and I mean private sector jobs, of course.  Even though we are all aware that the reported unemployment numbers in no way reflect the true amounts of massive unemployment that actually exists in our nation, even the reported manipulated numbers can not deny the increase in unemployment that follows an increase in taxes.

All this would appear as common sense to anyone who is not in denial of such a fact that taxes kill jobs and also kill job creation.  Clearly, if one were a ‘rich’ person looking to start a business that would subsequently employ workers, would such a ‘rich’ person open any hypothetical business where the profits, products, and salaries would be subject to some of the highest taxes in the nation?  Or, would they look to go somewhere else where the taxes would be considerably less or nonexistent?

Do I really need to answer such an obvious question?  Well apparently for most of the ‘liberal’ politicians and for most of the voters these manipulative politicians have forever mislead into following the misguided/ignorant politician’s ‘liberalistic’ ideals, yes I do need to answer the question:  No, any new business is most likely to locate itself where it would be subject to less taxes.  If the reader does not believe this is so, look to areas where the taxes are lower and I can nearly guarantee that the economy in such an area with lower taxes than L.A. County's taxes has not been as economically devastated in this latest Great Depression of the New Millennium as has been L.A. County.  Yet, the short-sighted ‘liberal’ politicians in California and LA County still seek to raise taxes even higher as if to drive away the remaining taxpayers who are still located here.  Maybe these politicians are merely socialists in disguise and would prefer that all the citizenry work for the government or be totally subsistent on the government for survival?

The best way to generate tax revenues is not by driving taxpayers out of the jurisdiction.  It would be better to get more people working so there are more people contributing to the tax base and then per capita everyone pays less – most likely, anyhow.  Anyone who tells you otherwise would appear to be not on the side of free-market job creation.  Maybe any person preaching  higher taxes is merely is in psychological denial or that person/politician is merely an ignorant individual who does not belong in office in this nation.  I suggest we let any such short-sighted politician who believes in forever raising taxes go somewhere like Canada where they enjoy paying a 50% tax – or the likes – on all goods purchased.

PS.  March 31st, 2013.  On KABC LA-TV Channel 7 today, the municipalities were listed whose higher sales taxes go into effect tomorrow.  Those towns who were silly enough to vote for higher sales taxes will no doubt see the short-sighted effects of that vote before all too long.  As whatever car sales and high dollar ticket sales items such as appliances pack-up and leave those towns for nearby communities with lower sales taxes, the simplistic towns with the higher sales taxes will eventually see their tax coffers further depleted.  For anyone who voted for such higher taxes, you were simply misled or, again, don't understand the effect of taxes.  That, or maybe, it's simply time for voter identification in California as well.
